As you look at the Youth Soccer landscape it seems to have become complicated.  All these acronyms such as WYS, EDP, ODP, RCL, SSUL, FWRL, etc… have often been referred to as the “Soccer Alphabet Soup.”

In an effort to do remove some letters from the soup Tacoma Pierce County Junior Soccer Association (TPCJSA) is now simply Pierce County Soccer.  The move is meant to simplify youth soccer services in Pierce County. If you live in Pierce County, WA and your child is looking to play soccer we have a club that will fit your needs.  Whether it is purely for the fun of playing a couple months in the Fall or your child is looking for the more competitive year round program Pierce County Soccer has a place to play.

New name brings a new website

New Pierce County Soccer Logo

Along with the new name we have redesigned our website with simplicity in mind.  The new site is also mobile friendly which is important in this day and age of smart phones and tablets.  Feel free to browse around and provide any feedback on the site.

New Board Members

Much of the new changes you are seeing are due to the hard work put in by a board that had a significant changeover in the last AGM.  These last few months they have listened to their members and their desire to see soccer in our area to be simplified.  Please welcome these new members and thank them for their work.

Henry Robicheau – President, a new but a familiar face with Pierce County Soccer.  He has served on this board in the past as well as on the State board with Washington Youth Soccer.

Curt Carroll – 2nd Vice President,  a new member who has spent many years serving on Harbor Soccer Clubs board.

Shirley McDaid – Secretary, a new member who joins the board from NorTac Soccer Club.

Tracy Murphy – Treasurer,  a new but a familiar face with Pierce County Soccer.  She has served on this board in the past as well as chairing committees at the State level with Washington Youth Soccer.

Corky Vargas – Registrar, a familiar face with Pierce County Soccer.  Corky, has been the Registrar with Pierce County Soccer since the early 2000’s.

We have a couple of vacant positions that we need to fill.  Anyone interested in volunteering please contact any board member to find out how you can become a board member.

Keep watching as this is only the beginning of what should be the best run youth soccer association in Washington Youth Soccer.
